Spring Creek Horse Rescue

A nonprofit organization

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving La Plata County and beyond. We are located in Durango, Colorado.

Spring Creek Horse Rescue has been committed to saving equines for over 45+ years!

We are dedicated to providing a second chance for abused, neglected, outgrown and unwanted equines of all breeds.

We are a 100% anti-slaughter rescue that emphasizes the rehabilitation and placement of horses into loving, lifelong homes with qualified owners. Horses that aren't adoptable because of medical and abuse problems have a home for life here at the rescue.

We also help educate the public on better horse care, handling and nutrition, and act as the La Plata County Hay Bank, providing hay for our neighbors who are unable to feed their horses.

In order to care for as many horses as possible, Spring Creek Horse Rescue relies on the generosity of individuals who volunteer their time and expertise, donate cash and supplies, and adopt the horses in our care.

Mission

We are dedicated to providing a second chance for abused, neglected, outgrown and unwanted equines of all breeds.
