To whom it may concern,
We are writing to inform you of the impact that the Spirit of Flight Center has had on students from The Logan School. We are a K-8 independent school where students direct their own education by choosing topics of interest to study at length. We take our students on individual and small group field trips to give them real world experiences. Every year we bring students to the Spirit of Flight Center. The students' topics have included Aerodynamics, Flight, Airplane Mechanics, WW II aircraft, Tuskegee Airmen, WASPS, and just about anything you can imagine related to aviation. As a school, we like to visit places where we can speak with people and engage in conversations with experts and/or enthusiasts. We've had a lot of wonderful field trips around Colorado, but Gordon and his staff have consistently gone above and beyond to give us deep and meaningful experiences and opportunities for learning. We are fortunate to have the budget and staff to bring our small groups of students to visit the Spirit of Flight Center, and hope that in the future all of our students (and students throughout Colorado) could have access to the valuable artifacts and personal interactions that Gordon and his team have provided. They do so much with what they have, and we would love for the Spirit of Flight Center to have the ability to reach out to more students in Colorado.
Sincerely,

To acquire, restore, preserve and display aviation history to honor all American veterans, to educate the general public of the significance of aviation, and to inspire future generations to become involved in aviation and/or aviation history.
The Spirit of Flight Center is a unique aviation collection that features many items from the past, present and future of flight. Items collected since 1979 are on display in the Spirit of Flight Hall of Honor in Erie, Colorado which opened to the general public in November of 2006. Over 60000 people have visited the facility with very little advertising. Feedback has been incredibly positive from those who have visited from as far away as Minnesota, Texas, New York, UK and Norway.
Many of the artifacts on display have been recovered from around the world by the Warbird Recovery group, www.warbirdrecovery.com, including several rare WWII fighter aircraft and vintage aircraft engines. Memorabilia, art, uniforms, bombs, aircraft parts and more are on display as a tribute to aviation history and to the veterans who have defended our freedom.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported entirely by aircraft and parts sales, gift shop sales and donations of memorabilia, along with corporate and private financial support. Besides honoring veterans, the Spirit of Flight Center is dedicated to educating the general public, especially kids, on the history and science of flight by using modern flight training technologies.
