Help us reach diverse communities through innovative programming, education, and outreach! Many music groups open their concert halls for outreach concerts, but Sphere stands apart by bringing our professional quality performances to community organizations.

Sphere Ensemble is a large string ensemble comprised of professional, classically-trained musicians. They seek to: Inspire in audiences a spirit of harmonious cooperation that is uniquely experienced by sharing music with others; Reach audiences that are new to classical-style programs by performing a mixture of musical styles and breaking down barriers between artist and audience; Arrange music from a wide range of original sources to build a diverse repertoire tailored to the ensemble's specific instrumentation; Bring high quality performances to populations that have limited or no access to live music, including in non-traditional performance settings; and Present educational programs crafted for diverse audiences that model a collaborative approach to music and other aspects of life.

Background Statement

Sphere Ensemble was formed in 2011 by professional string players driven to explore the vast potential of the string ensemble repertory. Moving beyond the stereotype of classical music tradition, Sphere's programs include both masterpieces of string orchestra repertoire and exceptional works drawn from all genres to create a new definition of modern performance. Innovative arrangements are written by group members generating a unique and transformative musical experience. Sphere continues to expand the reach to Front Range communities by bringing performances and educational programming to marginalized audiences including Title I schools and communities, homeless shelters, juvenile detention centers, women's shelters, children's hospitals, and assisted living and memory care facilities.
