Engaging diverse communities with string ensemble music through the performance of our innovative arrangements, education, and community engagement.
Background Statement
Sphere Ensemble is a 14-member string group based in Denver that’s redefining what string music can be. Inspired by the shape of a sphere, where every point is equally distant from the center, we perform without hierarchy, blending our voices into one collaborative sound.
Our music crosses genres — from baroque to hip hop, classical to rock — with original arrangements created by our own members. Our community initiatives bring live music to spaces that rarely experience it, such as our work with the Gilliam Youth Service Center, a juvenile detention facility, and the Stout Street Recuperative Care Center, which serves people experiencing homelessness. Our hope is to deepen our impact by connecting with communities across Colorado.
