VISION
Speakers for Africa maintains that education is essential to an individual's success and that
strengthening the pursuit of knowledge is critical. We believe every child in Uganda should have
access to education. Secondary school juniors and seniors can be some of the most vulnerable and
yet become some of the most important members of a community. Every effort should be made to
support students graduating high school and help prepare them for higher-level education and training
needed to enter the workforce.
MISSION
Speakers for Africa provides necessary school supplies, financial assistance and facilities to primary
and secondary students and schools in need throughout Uganda. Its goal is to augment, not replace,
an institution's curriculum with effective learning instruments, while also providing access to team
sports activities, music and dance.
MAIN OBJECTIVE
To provide a holistic transformation of young people and disadvantaged communities by offering
access to education and training, as well as exposure to modern innovations
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Speakers for Africa shall have the following specific objects:
a) To mobilize resources and establish educational opportunities for vulnerable children
b) To ensure that children are safe, healthy and protected at school with a reliable
facility in which to learn
c) To facilitate leadership and teamwork with sports activities and healthy competition
d) To support community-led initiatives using sustainable technologies to enhance
development

Founders Penny Randell and Peyton Thomas have nurtured a deep connection to Uganda since 1997. Penny, initially a single mother, first brought Peyton to Kampala, where both discovered insights and bonds they hadn’t anticipated. Their journey—a mother and son’s shared love for Uganda—eventually became a dedicated mission to support its people and communities. After 27 years, Uganda is a second home, and Penny and Peyton are committed to bringing dependable, impactful aid based on what they’ve learned.
Executive Director Peyton Thomas holds a degree in Political Science and Economics from Western Washington University, while Administrator Penny Randell earned her bachelor's in Biology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Together, they continue to champion sustainable assistance through Speakers for Africa.
