Background Statement
Tami Simon started Sounds True, Inc. in 1985 with a single mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom.
Over the following 30 years, Tami noticed that many people weren't able to access the Sounds True programs because of social, physical, and economic barriers.
In January 2019, Tami Simon publicly launched the Sounds True Foundation with a mission to create access to transformational education to social leaders and communities in need.
Tami's personal desire to see more people access transformational education has now turned into a foundation with three key areas of focus:
1. Training Mindful Champions: We fund scholarships for social leaders to become certified mindfulness teachers from areas such as social justice, education, hospice care, and environmental activism.
2. Meaningful Partnerships: We partner with nonprofit organizations to help make the healing benefits of mindfulness and emotional awareness accessible to communities in need.
3. Online Course Scholarships: We create access to Sounds True's online courses by providing scholarships for those experiencing financial hardship.
