The South Metro Medical Equipment Loan Closet's purpose is to provide used durable medical equipment to persons age 18 and over who are in need in the south metro area of Denver, CO.
Started in 2016, donations of durable medical equipment have allowed SMMELC to help hundreds of people with a short term loan of specialized equipment such as hospital beds, walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, etc. Our inventory of equipment as well as our client base continue to grow because people don't want to store medical equipment for any longer than they need to use it. And, we want to help keep the usable equipment out of the landfills! This organization is 100% volunteer driven and 100% of the donations go toward the program. Last year we loaned out more than1536 pieces of equipment to more than 700 people.
