She’s in Power is closing the gender gap in clean energy while building an inclusive and equitable future. Our program is building a diverse clean energy workforce through hands-on short-term work experiences and mentoring.
She’s in Power matches women over 18 years old and those who identify as female (Sparks) with a meaningful work experience (Power Projects) and a professional mentor (Energizers) for four to five months in Northern Colorado /Metro Denver.
The cohort experience provides our program participants with opportunities for expanding their network, accessing new career opportunities and exposure to personal and professional development. We offer 3 program terms through the year.
Sparks experience the following benefits:
- Build connections and gain insights from experienced professionals in the clean energy industry
- Gain access to resources and opportunities in the sector
- Kickstart their career with our professional mentors
- Increase their confidence
- Expand their technical skills
- Build their resume with a credible, reputable program
Energizers: Our mentors use their clean energy expertise to pay it forward and make a big impact on the future of the industry. Numerous studies confirm the power of having a mentor. Benefits include increasing job satisfaction, feeling more confident, being introduced to new contacts and learning how to navigate workplace culture. Mentors open doors and pass on wisdom that only comes from years of experience. Our Energizers participate in mentor training so they learn how to be effective with their Sparks and ensure a positive experience for both.
Power Partners: Power Partners are community organizations or companies that host a Spark for a short-term work experience ("Power Project"). The Power Project can last anywhere from two months to six months. She’s in Power promotes Power Projects to our network, reviews applications, and matches Sparks with the Project.
