In the spirit and memory of Shannon B. Jones, our foundation endeavors to empower children and young adults by offering support to discover their passion and become lifelong learners. Through mentorship, financial support, and community partnerships, we aim to ignite the spark of discovery and nurture the personal growth of every child we serve.
Since 2015, The Shannon B. Jones Passion Pursuit Foundation has provided an annual grant to selected students, one per institution, to pursue their passion. The grant can be used for learning and exploration beyond their normal curriculum. Application for a grant is open to all current students at selected institutions. Mentors work alongside these students, helping them present their passions, set goals, and outline a plan to achieve them. Each grant recipient can further their educational journey and showcase their work within their school community. The students share what goals they have that a grant will help them achieve, a proposed budget for what the grant would cover, and if possible identify the desired mentor or the qualities that they seek in a mentor.
