Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP is an award-winning social impact organization dedicated to helping older adults thrive online through free technology programs, community training, and strategic engagements.
Senior Planet is the flagship program of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS.) We're helping Coloradans over 60 thrive in today's digital world. Senior Planet's free technology programs online and across the state are designed to create measurable change in the lives of older adults, building technology skills to improve their health, make new friendships, launch businesses, advocate in their communities, and find new creative outlets.
These programs have become more urgent than ever, giving older adults the technological skills to access essential services like telemedicine and food delivery, discern misinformation online, and stay connected to their social communities. The Senior Planet Colorado experience also includes the world-class Senior Planet Center in Denver, a space designed for Seniors to engage with each other and state-of-the-art technologies that are free to use.
In the wake of COVID-19, OATS and Senior Planet staff transformed its award-winning curriculum for online delivery and dramatically grew the number of older adults connected to our programs.
According to surveys of program participants, 93% of respondents say they feel more connected to the world around them, 79% say they feel more confident connecting with family and friends online, 88% say they feel more confident finding resources online, and 86% feel less alone.
