$20,000 Goal

Savio delivers industry-leading outcomes by providing mental and behavioral health programs proven to work. Savio serves children and their families together in the comfort of their own homes, allowing us to understand their situation and build hope for the entire family.

We believes that a family's past does not define them. With the right support, a family can make sustainable changes that will allow them to be successful.

We are asking you to join us in that belief. This Colorado Gives Day our goal is to raise $20,000 dollars. This amount will allow local families to receive the support they need to preserve their family, address trauma, or improve youth behavioral health.

Why Your Gift Matters

7-year-old Morgan grew up in a home shadowed by her father’s violent outbursts, watching as her mother found the strength to leave. But the scars of her father outlasted that home. When their family came to Savio, the trauma they carried was evident.

Morgan was a happy and bubbly kid, holding her pain behind her smile, staying strong for the sake of her mom. At Savio, her therapist recognized the silent pain she carried. She introduced a tool called a “trauma narrative” allowing Morgan to explore the memories she had buried and discover the strength of vulnerability. Her mother, too, felt truly seen for the first time. Not just as a parent, but as someone ashamed, and overwhelmed by guilt for what her daughter endured. She learned the importance of releasing these feelings, to show up as the parent Morgan needed. As therapy neared its end, Morgan shared her trauma narrative with her mom. When she finished, her mother wrapped her in her arms. “I was so scared,” Morgan whispered. Her mom held her close, and said, “I know, baby. But we’re safe now.”

At school, Morgan bravely shared her story with classmates and teachers. Recognizing her incredible strength, they honored her with the “Always Turning Negatives into Positives” award. A simple but powerful reflection of just how far she’s come.

Savio serves over 1,700 families per year preventing out of home placements and providing critical mental health supports. Most of these families are like Morgan and her mother - faced with adversity and life circumstances that have burdened their mental health and family relationships. Savio provides mental health services at no cost to our families, ensuring that they can heal from trauma and continue on to bright positive futures.
