Established in October 2024, Sanctuary CARES provides subsidized maternal and infant care, primarily doula support, to families during the critical stages before and after the arrival of a new baby. Because when a family feels calm, confident, and capable in the early stages of life, they can provide the love and care their baby needs, forming deep connections that last a lifetime.
What exactly does a doula do?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to families before, during, and after the arrival of a new baby. Doulas complement the care provided by medical professionals, providing at-home support while honoring each family’s unique values and preferences. This support positively impacts the well-being of the entire family.
From overnight visits to infant feeding consultations, cooking nutritious meals, and providing connections to local resources, Sanctuary CARES’ doulas wrap every family in support and offer referrals that can evolve alongside changing needs.
Donations made on Colorado Gives Day through ColoradoGives.org will be essential to the early success of Sanctuary CARES, directly impacting the health outcomes of vulnerable families in the Boulder-Denver metro area.
