As SMT’s Trail Crew has grown, so has our need for trail tools. That's why we’re raising funds on Colorado Gives Day to purchase a dedicated truck for our trail crew—a critical resource for hauling tools, accessing remote trail work sites, and keeping trails in top shape.  

A trail-worthy vehicle will allow SMT to: 

• Guarantee reliable transportation for our trail crew
• Improve efficiency so staff and volunteers can get more work done
• Carry tools & equipment (saws, hand tools, rock bars, signage, PPE) to remote work sites
• Respond quickly to trail issues after storms or safety hazards
• Provide better support for volunteer events
• Access trails in all seasons and conditions

The $45,000 fundraising goal is our best estimate of a target budget for a vehicle and associated costs (eg. insurance). Any funds raised above and beyond what's needed for a truck will go into SMT's general fund, to be used for trail construction and maintenance.
