The Salida Cyclones is a local summer swim team that welcomes swimmers of all skill levels and is dedicated to fostering a love of swimming that will last a lifetime. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for young swimmers to grow and develop life skills outside of the pool, including confidence, dedication, responsibility, sportsmanship, individual integrity, and leadership. We strive to stay current with the latest techniques and trends in the sport of swimming while emphasizing proper technique and good sportsmanship.

The Salida Cyclones Swim Team has been a part of our community since the 1970s. Legend has it that the team was started by Poopsie Phillips in 1971.
Swimming is a natural sport for our valley with the Arkansas River in our backyard. This team has been passed down from season to season through generations of Chaffee County families, who each added their expertise and love to the Cyclone legacy.
Our swimmers and their families travel throughout southeast Colorado during the summer to represent Salida and compete at conference meets. The season culminates with a state meet each year with many Salida swimmers competing and placing in this season event.
