Safe Families for Children - CO Chapters

A child's healthiest place of safety, healing, and hope is with their own loving parents.  But when crisis strikes, job loss, illness, homelessness, and families are without reliable family or friends.  A family can break under that weight.

This can put children at risk of entering foster care not because of maltreatment, but because their parents lacked support.

You can change that.

Your gift helps us provide urgent support to families in crisis by providing short-term temporary care of children, resource assistance, a friend, and more, so children can stay where they belong: safe, and in the arms of the people who love them most.

Because no parent should lose their child simply for lacking support.

Because every child deserves the security of home.

Give today. Keep families together.  Protect a child's tomorrow.

Mission

Our Mission

Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families.

Background Statement

Founded in 2003 in Chicago, Safe Families for Children (SFFC) has become an international community-based movement. Located in 70 cities across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and beyond, we are motivated by faith to keep children safe and families together. SFFC partners with hundreds of churches, local community agencies, volunteer families, and government organizations to walk with parents facing social isolation to keep children safe and families together.

Safe Families for Children established chapters in Colorado beginning in 2019. The Pikes Peak Chapter serves Colorado Springs and El Paso County. The Denver Metro Chapter focuses on four metro area counties: Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson. The Northern Colorado Chapter serves Larimer and parts of Weld County.
