$10,000 Goal

Since 2017, STEM Generation, has been on a mission to close the gap in STEM learning opportunities and achievement by developing and delivering high-quality STEM programs to front range and rural school districts in underserved and underrepresented communities with 50% or more free/reduced lunch. STEM Generation’s fully donated programs, allow educators in low-income communities to provide engaging and innovative STEM activities to their students at no cost to them or the district. In addition to the donation of our programs, we provide ongoing support to administrators, STEM role models, and educators, as well as professional development, allowing educators to obtain continuing education units necessary for the retention of licensure.

STEM Generation emphasizes that regardless of color, race, gender or socio-economic status, all students should be afforded the opportunity to grow and develop important STEM skills and access the tools needed to succeed in STEM, as well as challenge the norms of what STEM professionals look like. We believe it is especially important that minorities in low-income areas have the opportunity to interact with and learn from, diverse,  STEM role models as well as engage in meaningful STEM activities to foster self-confidence and further close the gap in STEM learning opportunities.

Background Statement

In 2015, a teacher reached out to me to share a story a couple of weeks after I provided her with full support at a Title 1 school to organize their Science & Engineering Fair. She explained how one of her most at-risk students had come to her the day after the fair and had declared that he was going to be an engineer when he grew up. From that point forward, he had totally turned around his behavior in class.

He was focused.

He was dedicated.

He had found something that he connected with.

He believed in himself and knew "Hey I can do this!"

This life-changing experience and countless other experiences like it since then, have marked the birth of what has become STEM Generation DBA Science Fair Fun and it's flagship programming. These experiences inspire our team to create life-changing opportunities for under-represented students every day.
