Background Statement
In 1985, Wayne and Diane Tesch, saw a need to provide hope to local foster children in Costa Mesa, California. They created a week-long summer camp held in the mountains in order to create moments that matter for foster children ages 6-12.
After five years of hosting camps through their church, the Tesche's realized the need was in every county in the U.S. Wayne left his role in the local church and incorporated Royal Family Kids Camp as a nationwide organization, and developed a franchise model to scale their programing to other counties.
In 2008 the organization expanded to include a school year mentoring club called "Royal Friends Club" headed by Joanne Feldmeth, the former Executive Director for Child SHARE.
Currently, we work in 44 states, 262 communities, 12 countries serving 10,000 kids annually with nearly 16,000 volunteers.
