"Roots Music Project is dedicated to elevating the live music scene in Colorado's Front Range. Our vision is to transform this region into a global music epicenter, nurturing artists who create music with a lasting, positive impact on the world. This year alone, we'll be serving over 1,000 performing artists and partnering with numerous organizations to foster artistic growth.
With your support, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of aspiring musical artists. This year, your contribution will help us expand our Youth Immersion Program, advancing college and career preparation for high school students interested in the music industry. You’ll also enable the growth of our workshop series to foster learning and community engagement, the launch of new community jam sessions, and an increase in live performance opportunities both within our headquarters and at local venues. Additionally, your generosity will help us develop vital mental health programs tailored for musical artists. Thank you for being part of this transformative journey!
Roots Music Project's mission is to amplify the live music community through performance and artist development.
Bio:
The Roots Music Project, originally known as the 330 Blues Project, was established in August 2015 and underwent a rebranding in August 2019. The project is led by its founding members: Dave Kennedy, Rick Gabler of the Osage people, Ian Steele, a prominent LatinX artist, and Jon Oren. Roots Music Project achieved nonprofit certification on May 5th, 2021, with the aim of becoming a prominent performing arts venue in Boulder, Colorado, serving the entire community. Our primary objectives include fostering economic development in the creative artisan economy, supporting workforce development in the musical arts sector, and contributing to the local community through arts and culture.
Our dedication to the musical arts is evident in the numerous opportunities we provide to musicians throughout Colorado. We host performances, workshops, gatherings, and youth education initiatives, functioning as both an educational space and a creative hub for the musical gig worker economy. With a dedicated team of seventeen staff members, Roots Music Project not only generates jobs within the community but also ensures competitive wages for performers, ensuring fair compensation within the industry.
As a catalyst for economic growth, our impact extends beyond the realm of the arts, drawing visitors and tourists to Boulder and enhancing the region's cultural appeal. Collaborations with nonprofit organizations and community groups amplify our influence, fostering inclusivity and empowerment within the artistic community. By nurturing both established and emerging artists, we continue to build a vibrant creative ecosystem that benefits the broader community and contributes to the long-term economic prosperity of Boulder.
