Volunteer-built, operated and maintained statewide network of radio repeaters used to provide auxiliary/emergency communications for agencies responding to disasters and events. Able to operate independently of commercial phone, Internet and power systems. Our sole source of funding is donations.

Mission

Deploy, operate and maintain a network of digital radio repeaters across Colorado to ensure readiness to support communications used by public safety, public service agencies and other NGO's for relief and recovery during disasters and other emergency and non-emergency events. Maintain a 'command post on wheels' radio communications trailer with satellite, cell, and a myriad selection of radio band services which can be deployed anywhere in the state. Maintain "Quick Response Vehicles (QRV's) with similar capabilities as our communications trailer.

Background Statement

Founded 1993 as a group with 3 analog radio repeaters in the Denver area. Incorporated 2007 as a Colorado Non-Profit Corporation. Granted 501(c)(3) charitable status in 2012. Installed, operated and maintained a digital microwave network: approx. 40 sites connected via privately built radio links; 39 Digital Radio Repeaters across Colorado and extending into Cheyenne, WY and Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and Taos, NM. Have provided emergency/auxiliary communications services in support of events such as the Boulder floods, Hayman and Waldo Canyon fires.
