$5,000 Goal

Keep Fencing in the Roaring Fork Valley

Roaring Fork Fencers Club is a 501c3 advancing the Olympic sport of fencing. Since 2017, we’ve introduced youth and families to fencing, built skills through consistent coaching, and fostered a welcoming community—including students who are often underserved by traditional sports. RFFC transitioned to nonprofit status in July 2025 to expand access, stabilize operations, and invite community investment.

Rising facility, staffing, and basic operating costs have outpaced what families can afford. For years, our Head Coach and Executive Director has been paid less than a living wage—an approach that’s no longer sustainable. Without contributed support to stabilize staff pay and offset core costs, the club is at risk of closing this season. Your gift keeps the doors open.

Why Your Gift Matters

  • Access for local families: Last season, 25% of our members received financial assistance so cost wouldn’t be the reason a child had to leave the sport. Your gift grows scholarships and keeps beginner gear available.
  • Expert coaching: Head Coach Greg brings 20+ years in the sport and FIE licensure. Athletes benefit from steady, high-level instruction every week.
  • Building belonging: RFFC is known as a safe, supportive space for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent youth who may not find a fit in large team sports.
  • The only option for miles: RFFC is the only fencing club within ~75 miles (one of just 10 in Colorado), so your support keeps specialized instruction available close to home.

Our Goal

By the end of 2025, we need to raise $20,000 to adjust the Head Coach/ED salary toward a living wage and secure part-time admin support to build out our fundraising program. This investment will help us raise more money in the next 3 years to meet our scholarship and accessibility goals.
