River Center of New Castle

River Center -  It’s neighbors helping neighbors. That is the heart of the River Center. Founded in 2010, the River Center is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to identifying and addressing unmet community needs through compassionate volunteerism. Today, our work reaches families, children, seniors, students, and neighbors throughout our community. And while every program is different, they all have one thing in common: People helping people. Your support makes that possible.

In 2025, together with our volunteers, partners, donors, and community members, the River Center:

• Delivered approximately 4,900 Friday lunches to children in New Castle and Silt through Meal Monkey.
• Distributed approximately 1,500 Totes of Hope filled with food to families through four local schools.
• Provided an average of 25 seniors with lunch and fellowship every Wednesday at our Senior Luncheon.
• Harvested and shared 266 pounds of fresh produce from our Community Garden, with a portion going to neighbors through the River Center pantry.
• Awarded eight $1,000 Neighbors Helping Neighbors scholarships to graduating seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
• Brought community members together through Volunteer New Castle, celebrating the people and businesses who give their time and talents to make our community stronger.
