Mission
Rise Performing Arts is dedicated to making opportunities for young performers to develop skills and master their craft accessible to communities across the Denver metro area, bringing art and music into communities, enriching culture and community.
Background Statement
Rise Performing Arts was founded in 2012 as a response to the need for more opportunities for young people drum competitively at a high level. Our founding ensemble, Rise Percussion has performed in the springs of 2013-2023 and is preparing to perform in the spring of 2024. In 2017, the ensemble competed in Open Class at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH and placed 2nd in the world. Since then, Rise Percussion has competed at the world class level.
In addition to Rise Percussion, RPA has fielded a separate Open Class ensemble, The Forge Percussion Ensemble (formerly Rise 2 and Signal Percussion) as well as a Winterguard, Daylight.
The COVID-19 pandemic devastated the indoor percussion community and completely halted our competitive season in 2020. However, because we knew how important performing together was for our students, we put together a virtual ensemble in the Spring of 2021. Many of those students perform in our ensembles today.
