Background Statement
Repair the World Colorado (also known as Colorado Repair) fosters thriving Jewish communities through service and learning, grounded in Jewish values like justice, tzedek, and the preciousness of each human, kavod ha’briyot.
Our mission provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, builds capacity for nonprofit partners to meet their missions, and builds bridges across lines of difference. In close partnership with dozens of local service and Jewish communal partners, Colorado Repair facilitates programming that engages a diverse group of Jewish young adults and their communities.
Colorado Repair is a critical entry-point for Jewish young adults:
• 100% of participants shared that they felt more connected to the Jewish community by serving with Repair
• 88% of participants say that because of their involvement, they have an increased connection to service as a Jewish value.
• Anecdotally, many Jewish participants — especially those with historically marginalized identities — have shared that while they had not previously felt comfortable in Jewish spaces, they felt welcomed by Repair.
