Regis Jesuit High School

A nonprofit organization

Regis Jesuit is excited to participate in the first annual Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day. There has been a tremendous response so far, and over $1.5 million has already been raised to support youth sports across the state. The original $1 million in matching funds has been expended, but due to the enthusiasm for supporting youth sports, the Daniels Fund has added an additional incentive fund of $500,000. This fund will be distributed on a percentage basis to ensure every gift made through September 30 continues to make an impact. Let’s keep the momentum going because the field, court, pitch, pool and mat are all are extensions of the classroom and make a lasting impact on our student-athletes.

  • Raider Opportunity Fund: Your support of the Raider Opportunity Fund as a part of the Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day will provide financial support to student-athletes to assist them with sports fees and travel.
  • Athletic Enhancements: Your support helps provide the best facilities and programming to our more than 1000 student-athletes as they hone their God-given talents through teamwork and competition as well as critical thinking, perseverance and leadership.

With your generous support, we can join together with other organizations in our state on this #YouthSportsGivingDay, to help Regis Jesuit student-athletes experience the joys and benefits of playing sports.

Testimonials

“At Regis Jesuit, I went from a student who did school and played tennis on the side, to someone who wanted to play basketball and could maybe even go to college for basketball. That changed how I saw myself and how I saw achieving my goals.” -FRAN BELIBI ‘19

"Athletic enhancements are key to the continued development of each and every one of our incredible student-athletes. I want to see our Raiders succeed in competition, but even more importantly, I want them to build the confidence and self-respect they need to grow as members of a team." - RYAN WEST, INTERIM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

"We support the school because our children, Ava & Jack, have grown in so many ways. With our philanthropy, our goal is to foster transformative and meaningful experiences for all students within the Regis Jesuit mission.” -TONY AND AMY DE SIMONE, PARENTS OF AVA ’23 AND JACK ‘25

Background Statement

Regis Jesuit High School (“Regis Jesuit”), rooted in the Jesuit tradition of education, was founded in 1877 as Las Vegas College in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1884, the Jesuits opened a second school in Morrison, Colorado. Four years later, the Las Vegas and Morrison schools were merged into College of the Sacred Heart and moved to northwest Denver. In 1917, the college separated from the high school, and in 1921 both schools were renamed in honor of St. John Francis Regis, a French Jesuit who devoted his life to working with the poor and marginalized.

In 1979, Regis University and Regis Jesuit High School became separate corporations but remained on a shared campus. Less than a decade later, the high school decided that a new location was needed to allow for future expansion. In 1989, the cornerstone was laid for the new campus in southeast Aurora.

In 2001, in response to a critical shortage of Catholic education for girls in Denver, as well as a desire to extend the Jesuit educational model to young women, Regis Jesuit expanded its facilities and added a Girls Division. During the 2003-04 school year, the Girls Division opened with 170 students and created the United States’ first and only co-divisional Jesuit school, offering a single-gender academic environment during the day and co-ed activities outside of school hours.

In 2014, the campus expanding with the opening of the Steele Center which houses classrooms for instrumental and vocal music, along with a theatre for productions, Masses, lectures, competitions, and meetings and a common gathering space for all segments of the community of Regis Jesuit. It was the first co-divisional building on campus (the building is used by boys and girls but still honoring the single gender classroom experience).

In December 2023, as a part of the Inspire & Ignite 2025 strategic plan, Regis Jesuit celebrated the grand opening of the Science & Innovation Center. This 65,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art building not only serves as a new co-divisional home for the sciences but also a unified front door to the school with direct access to the Admissions, Alumni and President’s offices for our extended community.

Regis Jesuit forms approximately 940 boys and 750 girls to be Men and Women with and for Others each year. The school has a proud legacy of more than 13,000 alumni worldwide and is part of a network nearly 80 Jesuit secondary schools and 27 colleges in the United States.
