Mission

The American Red Cross of Colorado prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Background Statement

Founded in 1914, the American Red Cross of Colorado is part of the American National Red Cross, which is among the oldest human service organizations in the United States. In 1905, the U.S. Congress chartered the American National Red Cross to mitigate suffering caused by disasters. The American Red Cross of Colorado is a vital part of the community and serves all residents of Colorado through four chapters: Mile High Area, Southern Colorado, Western Colorado and Northern Colorado.
