Recovery Café Longmont

A nonprofit organization

Recovery Café Longmont supports adults as they rebuild their lives and break the cycle of addiction, or overcome a recent crisis or trauma. We strive to stand in the gap between crisis and stability by fostering community-building and life-empowerment.

Mission

We are a community of refuge and healing for people in recovery.

Background Statement

Recovery Café Longmont's (RCL) mission is to serve as a community of refuge and healing for people in recovery. RCL was formed in late 2018 to address the unmet need for adequate, accessible, long-term recovery support services in Boulder County.

Recovery Café started in Seattle in 2004 and news of the Café's success spread quickly. After years of requests to replicate the model, Recovery Café Network (RCN) launched as a social licensing/cohort learning model providing mentorship, materials, expertise, and facilitated learning experiences. Longmont is an emerging member of the Network. RCN creates the structure to teach member Cafés about what does and does not work and also creates a platform to generate greater resources. RCN is built upon a foundation that incorporates best practices informed by lived experience and the latest academic research.

The Recovery Café model was chosen because it works. It works by standing in the gap between crisis and stability, between post-treatment and long-term recovery, and between loneliness and loving community.
