Reclaiming Hope

A nonprofit organization

Reclaiming Hope (formerly Restore Innocence) journeys with domestic survivors of sex-trafficking from the point of rescue though the restoration and reintegration process. We collaborate with FBI Victim Specialists, law-enforcement, trauma counselors and the community to restore hope for survivors.

"My relationship with my mentor is the only healthy relationship in my life."
~
"My mentor speaks the truth and wraps it with love for me, from God."
~
"I want the world to know that living in this situation is terrifying and hopeless...Internally without even knowing, I prayed for a chance to see the light, and it was answered with good company, new friends, and people I can trust, thanks again Restore Innocence."
~
"I have learned that healing is a long hard journey. Through this journey, I know that I am no longer a victim. I am a human being just like you. I have learned that I get to have my own thoughts and feeling and I get to make my own decisions. I am no longer scared of those that hurt me so profoundly."

RESTORATION BAG TESTIMONIALS:
"Last week I worked with a little guy who is a victim of child abuse. He endured so so much... He had no family support, not even a friend of the family or anyone to visit with him. I noticed that he didn't have any clothes or pjs like the other children. So I took him one of the bags that you assisted us in getting for these situations. The little guy was BEYOND happy and grateful for every item in that bag. He was so touched that I would bring HIM clothes and everything else! The bonus was that he loves Batman and there was a superheroes coloring book with Batman on the cover in the backpack! Also, the blanket...he loved it and wore it as a cape for the rest of the time he was at the hospital."
~
"I wanted to let you know that the day after I received the (Restoration Bags), we recovered a 16 year old girl with no socks or coat. She was so excited to have socks and a warm blanket, but most of all, she loved the stuffed animal in the bag. She held on to the stuffed animal throughout the interview and in all of our follow-up meetings she was holding it next to her face. I just wanted to let you know how important these items are, and how thankful our task force is to have received them!!"
~
"I am writing to thank you for sending Restoration Bags to my office so that we may distribute them to victims of sex trafficking. The recipients always appreciate the bags, especially since they don't expect anything for free and also because they don't view themselves as worthy. In your note, you thanked me for my work. I thank you for your work and support."

"Something as simple as a hygiene bag has been, for many years, a reminder to our survivors and to us (law enforcement) that humanity can be kind, sacrificial, loving and require absolutely nothing in return."
