Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse

Ramps and Alleys Clubhouse grew out of a clear community need. Youth in Salida, Colorado, and the surrounding areas needed a safe, welcoming place to go. The Clubhouse was founded to address this need by offering a supervised space and free activities for young people who often can’t afford typical mountain-town recreation like skiing or kayaking. 

Over time, the opportunity we’re addressing has broadened from simply providing “a place to go” into becoming a larger youth-and-community hub. We now offer multiple programs (like teen nights, Little Shredders, and scholarships). We have a dedicated physical space with skateboard and roller skate amenities, art supplies, and comfy places to relax, play games, and do homework. We’ve developed partnerships with other youth-serving organizations and schools in the area, which also use the space for their programming. While providing a safe, no-cost youth space remains central, we’re moving toward greater community integration, more varied programming for a wider age range, and longer-term stability goals, such as raising funds to purchase the building and secure the location.
