Rain Basketball is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving youth athletes in the Denver area. We offer a range of training programs, including AAU club teams, Skills Academy, and seasonal skill camps, designed to meet the needs of players at every level—from beginners to advanced athletes. Each program is tailored not only to develop athletic abilities but also to cultivate essential life skills that empower youth on the court and in life.

At Rain Basketball, our commitment goes beyond just the game

Driven by our vision to ensure that all aspiring athletes remain connected to resources that will positively shape their future, we believe that no athlete should be turned away due to financial limitations.

Each year, Rain Basketball allocates over $70,000 in funding to our Scholarship Program, supporting children who would otherwise face barriers to participation—helping over 150 families in the process. Our goal is to reinforce this impact on a larger scope and increase the total number of athletes we support, with your help.

Your support will directly impact the financial scholarships our program provides to families in need;
95% allocated to athletes and less than 5% directed toward staff expenses.

Thank you for believing in these kids.
They're worth it—and with your help, their future is limitless.

Mission

To ensure all aspiring athletes remain connected to resources that will positively shape their future by providing full scholarships, elite USA Basketball Gold-certified coaching, academic support, and direct college recruiting exposure—transforming at-risk youth into college-bound leaders.

Background Statement

Basketball Saved My Life. Now I'm Giving Other Kids the Same Chance.

Founder Stephen Beseda grew up in a financially struggling family where basketball became his ticket out. He earned a college scholarship, graduated with a degree in exercise science, and built successful athletic businesses in Southern California.

But he never forgot where he came from.

In 2010, Stephen founded Rain Basketball as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an unusual approach: he self-funded scholarships from his business profits. No bureaucracy, just a mission-driven commitment to give other kids the same shot he got.

Over 15 years, Rain Basketball has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into kids others overlooked. We now operate three regional chapters (Denver, Orange County, and Inland Empire) with professional nonprofit governance, an active Board of Directors, and measurable student outcomes tracking.

The Problem We Solve:

Thousands of talented young athletes face impossible odds: economic hardship, dangerous neighborhoods, and lack of positive role models. Without access to the $3,000 annual cost of competitive programs, these athletes never get their shot at college scholarships.

Our Solution:

We provide full scholarships covering coaching, tournaments, travel, equipment, and college placement support. In return, we ask scholarship recipients to maintain good grades, stay out of trouble, and serve their community.

The Results:

- 90% college scholarship rate for top-tier players

- $150,000+ invested annually in 150+ families

- 8,000+ students served since 2010

- 95% of every dollar goes directly to programs (vs. 60-75% industry average)

When you support Rain Basketball, you're joining a proven program that develops champions while opening doors for the next generation of leaders.
