This Colorado Gives Day, Be the Reason a PSD Student Has a Safe Place to Sleep Tonight

Every day in Poudre School District, children arrive at school carrying invisible burdens—uncertainty about where they will sleep, whether the heat will stay on, or how their family will afford basic essentials. These barriers make it nearly impossible for a student to focus on learning.

The PSD Foundation Compassion Fund exists to help remove those barriers. And this Colorado Gives Day, we need your help.

Through a close partnership with PSD’s McKinney-Vento team, the PSD Foundation provides swift, one-time assistance so students can focus on what matters most, their education.

Why Your Gift Matters

Poudre School District Foundation serves more than 29,000 students across Northern Colorado with the mission to “Educate every child, every day”. To make that mission truly possible, the PSD Foundation mobilizes community resources to create opportunities and provide essential relief for students who need it most.

Since our founding in 2000, the PSD Foundation has delivered over $2.5 million in grants, scholarships, district program support, and Compassion Fund assistance—work made possible largely by individual donors like you.

Over just the past three years, thanks to donor generosity, we have:

  • Helped 106 families remain housed

  • Provided urgent assistance so students could maintain heat, electricity, and hot water service

  • Ensured access to transportation, allowing students to get to school safely

  • Supported families with meals, essentials, and emergency needs

When crisis hits, timing matters. Your generous support helps us respond immediately.

Your Colorado Gives Day Gift Goes Even Further

Thanks to Colorado Gives Day matching funds provided by FirstBank and the Colorado Gives Foundation, your donation can be amplified—helping us reach even more PSD students and families facing hardship.

This year, in honor of our 25th anniversary, we aim to raise $25,000 to support families in crisis and furthering our mission by providing critical funding support to help fill the funding gaps in our floor-funded school district. A recurring gift helps us provide stability all year long.

What Your Gift Can Do

Your generosity directly impacts PSD students:

  • $25 — Provides emergency gas cards so students can get to school

  • $50 — Helps supply meals over weekends and school breaks

  • $100 — Keeps heat, hot water, or electricity on for a family

  • $500 — Provides one-time support for safe, reliable transportation

  • $1,000 — Offers emergency housing assistance to keep a family safely housed

Every dollar removes a barrier to education. Every dollar is hope.

---

Since our founding in 2000, the PSD Foundation has provided over $2.52M in support for students in the Poudre School District. Through our educator grant program and district initiative support we have provided opportunities for PSD students to go above and beyond typical classroom experiences. From Geometry in Construction, which teaches students the relevance of geometry through construction of a Habitat for Humanity home; to The Colorado Coralition which allows middle and high school students to volunteer with the Coral Restoration Foundation in the Florida Keys; to the Harris Strings Program providing access to music instruction and instruments at school--the PSD Foundation has provided vital funding to help ensure access to students across the district. Each year, Ignite Classroom Grants, PSDF support of District initiatives, and the Compassion Fund ensure students have opportunities for academic success, for learning about our changing world, for exploring possibilities, for connecting them with their school and local community and removing barriers to education. It is our goal and priority to help fill critical funding gaps in our floor-funded District.
