Mission

Phillips County Family Education Services seeks to empower and equip our diverse community through inclusive programs and collaborative partnerships to thrive in an evolving world.

Background Statement

Phillips County Family Education Services (PCFES) began in 1992 as a local literacy initiative to meet the adult learning needs of Phillips County, a small rural community in northeastern Colorado. Early programs included English as a Second Language (ESL) and reading tutoring for residents seeking to improve communication and literacy skills.

In 1997, PCFES earned IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Since then, our programs have grown to include adult ESL and English conversation classes, GED preparation, U.S. Citizenship preparation, After-School Homework Help, Spanish Folkloric Dance, and various community outreach initiatives.

We are also proud to serve as an Affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, providing free books each month to children ages 0–5 throughout our local communities.
