Mission

Phillips County Family Education Services seeks to provide a service that motivates and prepares family members of all ages to acquire the skills needed to achieve their educational goals and to become contributing members of a multicultural community.

Background Statement

PCFES began as a literacy program in 1992 to serve the adult needs of Phillips County, a small, rural county located in northeastern Colorado. Initial classes included English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and individual reading tutoring offered to immigrants and native English speakers in need of basic literacy skills. The organization incorporated in 1996 and received IRS 501(c)3 non profit status in 1997. Programs have expanded through the years to include Adult Education, GED, Citizenship Preparation, After School Homework Help Program, Early Childhood/Family Literacy and an English Intensive Summer Camp for families. We are also an Affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program, a book gifting program available to all children ages 0-5 in our communities.
