At Paws of Hope Colorado, we believe every dog deserves a safe place to land, a chance to heal, and a family to call their own. That belief is at the center of everything we do.
Our journey began with a simple realization: shelters and rescues across Colorado were overwhelmed and under-supported, families were struggling to rehome their pets, and adoptable dogs were waiting far too long for the right match. We knew we could help.
Our founders have seen the transformation that happens when a dog finally feels secure and loved: a frightened pup relaxing into a warm bed, a shy dog taking their first confident steps, a family meeting their new best friend. Those moments inspired us to build a community dedicated to second chances.
Paws of Hope Colorado is more than a rescue support organization. We are a network of compassionate people who believe in collaboration, education, and proactive care. We share practical resources, heartwarming stories, and clear guidance to make adopting and fostering approachable for everyone.
Our work includes:
- Helping rehome dogs before they enter shelters, reducing intake and easing the burden on crowded facilities
- Providing supply support to shelters, including food, treats, cleaning supplies, and enrichment items
- Hosting community events, fundraisers, and donation drives to gather the essentials shelters rely on
- Supporting no-kill initiatives by increasing adoption visibility and educating potential adopters

Paws of Hope Colorado exists to improve the lives of dogs across Colorado by creating more opportunities for adoption, keeping pets out of overcrowded shelters whenever possible, and supporting the shelters, rescues, foster families, veterans, first responders, and pet owners who care for them. Through food, supplies, and financial support, we help ensure every dog has what it needs to find a safe, loving home.

Our Background
Paws of Hope Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Greeley, Colorado, founded in August 2026. Founded by a group of local volunteers who saw a need in our community and decided to act, we believe every dog deserves a safe, loving home, and the people and organizations who care for them deserve support.
Across Colorado, shelters and rescues are stretched thin, foster families are stepping up with limited resources, and pet owners facing hard times sometimes have nowhere to turn. Many veterans who rely on their dogs for companionship and comfort struggle with the costs of care. Paws of Hope Colorado was created to help close those gaps.
We work alongside shelters, rescues, foster homes, veterans, and pet owners to promote adoptable dogs, assist with responsible rehoming, and provide food, supplies, and financial support. As a new organization, we are building a statewide network from the ground up, one that helps dogs find homes, keeps pets out of overcrowded shelters whenever possible, and supports the people who make a difference for animals every day.
