Built on Legacy. Powered by Purpose.
The Park Hill Pirates Youth Sports Organization has been a pillar of the Northeast Denver community for over 50 years. Founded in 1968, the Pirates were created as a safe haven for Black youth during a time of segregation, violence, and limited opportunity. What began as a neighborhood football team quickly grew into a full-on movement, one rooted in community, discipline, pride, and love.
Today, that legacy lives on stronger than ever. The Park Hill Pirates now serve over 200 boys and girls annually, ages 6 to 14, through year-round programming that goes far beyond sports. While football remains our flagship program, it’s only one piece of what we do. We develop student-athletes and whole leaders, providing mentorship, life skills, academic support, travel opportunities, wellness programming, and access to positive role models who reflect the kids we serve.
From study halls to healing circles, college visits to youth-led media projects, we make sure our kids are seen, heard, and supported on the field, in the classroom, and in life. Our coaches are mentors. Our parents are leaders. Our alumni come back to serve. And every single youth we engage is part of a legacy that says: You matter. You belong. And you can be great.
We operate as a grassroots, volunteer-powered nonprofit, and we fundraise year-round to ensure no child is turned away. Your support helps us cover uniforms, equipment, healthy meals, travel expenses, mental health resources, and so much more. Every dollar you give is an investment in a young life and in a community that’s building from within.
All For One. One For All. All For The Team.
