Pagosa Weather

Pagosa Weather, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, was founded in 2016 to provide meteorological information and education and give back to the community. The organization’s leaders, Arleen and Shawn Prochazka, are members of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and are Archuleta County Weather Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassadors.

Pagosa Weather partners with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to inspire the community to be better informed and prepared, 
thus helping to minimize, mitigate, and avoid the impacts of natural disasters. They were recognized by NOAA at the national level as 2022 WRN Ambassadors of Excellence. They are also the National Weather Service (NWS) Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow (CoCoRaHS) Network coordinators for Archuleta County and members of the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce.
