The Mission of South High School:
"South High will provide a solid educational foundation designed to develop responsible, productive citizens prepared to the challenges of the future."
The Pueblo South High School Foundation idea was started in 2005 when the class of 1965 toured the building for their 40th reunion and found parents trying to repair decades' old bank uniforms. When asked why they were doing so, the parents indicated there were very little funds for these types of activities from the district or state budgets.
To assist with making things easier we now have nearly all decades represented on the board and in volunteer activities to assist in raising funds through the South High School Alumni Foundation to support worthwhile projects for current South High students that would otherwise go unfunded. Since 2006 the SHSAF has raised over $100,000 to assist with funding worthy projects listed elsewhere on this website.
We support projects which benefit as many students as possible at South. We have assisted in funding a distance learning lab so South students can interact with students and curricula around the globe and beyond. We are helping to fund an IPad pilot to assist faculty to become more effective and productive at delivering instruction.
