Mission

PROJECT OUR TOWN's MISSION is to inspire action by empowering the community through meaningful, intentional, and impactful opportunities that make a difference.

Our VISION is to:

INSPIRE acts of giving, kindness, and compassion by engaging and connecting volunteers, organizations, and people in need.

CREATE active collaboration with local businesses, partner organizations, and individuals.

GROW and sustain a community of invested, motivated volunteers with an ongoing commitment to social action work.

BUILD a culture in which volunteerism is an intrinsic part of being in a community.

MODEL how we honor ourselves when we identify and respond to the needs of our community.

Background Statement

In 2018, PROJECT OUR TOWN started as a two-day community-wide volunteer event. We had 850 volunteers the first year! The response was so large and the event was so impactful, we knew immediately that it needed to be an organization, not just an event, in order to reach its full potential.

So, in January 2019, our new 501c3 non-profit organization was founded, and we hit the ground running.

PROJECT OUR TOWN has expanded quickly and now provides projects throughout the year, including the Weekend of Action: a 4-day community-wide community service event, our Warm Your ♥️ Bean Soup Project, Annual School Supply Drive and Diaper Drive, as well as twice-monthly in-person volunteer projects and ongoing at-home projects.

All projects benefit local nonprofit agencies that provide direct assistance to many diverse groups including the homeless, low-income and food-insecure individuals and families, military, elderly, adults and children struggling with serious mental health issues, and much more.
