Why Choose PROJECT OUR TOWN for Your Donation?

Donations reach deep, impact multiple causes, support local non-profit agencies, and help people struggling with some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

PROJECT OUR TOWN is run by volunteers. We have no paid staff. We have a board of deeply committed, community-minded individuals who work countless hours towards fulfilling our mission. This means that 100% of your donation dollars go directly towards the projects that benefit the community.

Todd Young Regional Leader, Edward Jones

"We finished up our bean soup packages last night. It was very impressive how organized it was! Everyone enjoyed the experience and put loving and positive thoughts into each bag as they prepared them. And they were all hoping to do it again next month!"

PROJECT OUR TOWN's MISSION is to inspire action by empowering the community through meaningful, intentional, and impactful opportunities that make a difference.

Our VISION is to:

INSPIRE acts of giving, kindness, and compassion by engaging and connecting volunteers, organizations, and people in need.

CREATE active collaboration with local businesses, partner organizations, and individuals.

GROW and sustain a community of invested, motivated volunteers with an ongoing commitment to social action work.

BUILD a culture in which volunteerism is an intrinsic part of being in a community.

MODEL how we honor ourselves when we identify and respond to the needs of our community.

Background Statement

In 2018, PROJECT OUR TOWN started as a two-day community-wide volunteer event. We had 850 volunteers the first year and knew it was something very special. The response was so large and the event was so impactful, we knew immediately that it needed to be its own organization in order to reach its full potential.

So, in January 2019, our new 501c3 non-profit organization was founded, and we hit the ground running.

PROJECT OUR TOWN has expanded quickly and now provides projects throughout the year, including the Weekend of Action: a 4-day community-wide community service event, our Warm Your ♥️ Bean Soup Project, annual School Supply Drive and Diaper Drive, as well as twice-monthly in-person volunteer projects and ongoing at-home projects.

All projects benefit local nonprofit agencies that provide direct assistance to many diverse groups including the homeless, low-income and food-insecure individuals and families, military, elderly, adults and children struggling with serious mental health issues, and much more.

We are the easy button. We find the needs in the community and:

~ Offer meaningful, easy, and fun volunteer experiences

~ Plan and facilitate opportunities that help businesses meet their team building and community outreach goals

~ Create meaningful relationships between PROJECT OUR TOWN, our volunteers, our company partners, and other non-profit organizations doing critical work in our community.
