Neuro-Laser Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Neuro-Laser Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring hope, healing, and quality of life for individuals affected by traumatic brain injury, dementia, and a wide range of neurological and neurocognitive conditions, including mild cognitive impairment (MCI), Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, concussion, depression, PTSD, long COVID, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), ADHD, and autism.

The Foundation is currently conducting a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial on the treatment of early dementia/mild cognitive impairment using multi-watt infrared laser treatments. This research is being conducted in collaboration with Neuro-Luminance Inc. at its Greenwood Village, Colorado clinic.

Our Laser Unattenuated Multi-watt Infrared Therapy (LUMIT) utilizes light in the near-infrared spectrum applied with a patented method for a revolutionary new treatment for brain disorders.

Vision:

Our vision is to advance a new standard of integrative brain health care by providing innovative, science-driven treatment programs grounded in the cutting-edge neurotechnology and clinical research pioneered alongside Neuro-Luminance Inc. Through compassionate, patient-centered care, we strive to help individuals reclaim cognitive function, emotional well-being, neurological resilience, and overall quality of life.

The Foundation is actively involved in clinical research studies focused on the treatment of dementia and mild cognitive impairment, helping to advance the scientific understanding and clinical application of non-invasive neurotherapeutic technologies designed to support brain function, cognition, and healthy aging.

We envision a future where specialized Neuro-Laser Foundation centers expand access to transformative therapies for the millions of individuals and families impacted by traumatic brain injury, dementia, and related neurological disorders across the United States. Central to our mission is a deep commitment to serving Veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, and others who have sacrificed in service to their communities and country.

By combining advanced neuroscience, clinical research, education, and accessible care, the Neuro-Laser Foundation seeks to illuminate a pathway toward recovery, dignity, cognitive vitality, and renewed possibility for every patient we serve.

Testimonials

"In October of 2012, I started seeing Dr. Henderson and in 2013 I started transcranial near-infrared light therapy (NILT). This changed my life! The NILT seemed to repair so much of what was not working in my brain. NILT alleviated my depression and I found true happiness again. My anger quickly changed to kindness and joy. I was no longer anxious and "calm" became my normal. I came out of the fog. I did approximately 20 sessions throughout 2013 and because of the positive effects of this therapy I gained custody back of my children in January of 2014. To the surprise of everyone around me, I was the best mother I had ever been. I had patience and my children experienced a mother they had never seen before. I finally had the family I dreamed about. We were all finally happy. My children deserved to have a mother that would love them, that would treat them with respect and not become irate towards them every day, and they finally had the mother that they deserved. If it were not for the NILT I would never have gained custody back of my children. If it wasn't for NILT, I could not be the kind of mother that my children ought to have. I will forever be thankful that I received the NILT because it changed my life, but more importantly it changed my children's lives because they deserved the person I am today."

“I had horrible brain fog, I was always tired, and I had developed a tremor. I couldn’t work! Everywhere I was trying to get treatment, there were long wait lists. None of the treatments helped… Then I found Dr. Henderson's work with multi-watt infrared laser! With each infrared light treatment, I felt better – slowly but surely.

Now, I feel better than I did before I got COVID…and it's really really shocking!”

"Bravo! Your first fundraiser was elegant and wonderful. I hope this is the first of many Annual Neurology-Laser Foundation fundraiser galas. Such a worthy cause - to help veterans and civilians receive effective treatment for TBI. The stories of veterans who have benefited from this revolutionary approach to treating TBI brought tears to my eyes and to many others. The live big band was a joy. It was an elegant, and memorable evening."

Mission

The Neuro-Laser Foundation is committed to the treatment of brain disorders, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), dementia, depression, long COVID, Parkinson's disease, ADHD, and concussion utilizing a unique, high-powered, multi-Watt near-infrared light (LUMIT) to catalyze the brain's own intrinsic repair processes. Its mission is two-fold: 1) to subsidize the treatment of Veterans and First-Responders, such as police and firefighters, and 2) to fund further clinical research of this revolutionary new treatment. Treatment is provided regardless of age, gender, race, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.

Background Statement

The Neuro-Laser Foundation was established in 2012 by Drs. Larry Morries and Theodore Henderson. These two Colorado doctors recognized they had developed something remarkable - a treatment for traumatic brain injury (TBI) that actually made a difference! The Foundation initially devoted its efforts to researching the technique. The first two results of this self-funded research were published in 2015. These initial two research articles have been cited by other scientists over 1000 times worldwide in the last 10 years - touching not only brain health, but innovative cancer treatment.

Dr. Morries passed away in 2022 and Dr. Henderson has continued to lead the research and philanthropic efforts. Over the last decade, Dr. Henderson has published more than a dozen research articles in the field of infrared light brain treatment. Currently, the Foundation is funding and conducting a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial on the treatment of early dementia/mild cognitive impairment using multi-watt infrared laser treatments. The Foundation has collaborative research efforts ongoing with Harvard/Massachusetts General and elsewhere.

The Foundation has continued its efforts to provide subsidized treatment to Veterans and First-Responders who suffer from TBI and PTSD.
