Background Statement
Who We Are
The Naloxone Project is a clinician-led nonprofit dedicated to compassionate, patient-centric care for individuals living with addiction or at risk of overdose. We are on a mission to dismantle stigma and redefine the national response to the opioid crisis, beginning with equitable access to naloxone, the life-saving overdose-reversal medication.
What We Do
Our approach is built on a foundation of evidence and humanity, promoting the distribution of naloxone within medical spaces and beyond. TNP aims to enhance medical and emergency response systems, advocate for transformative policy, and increase community awareness, all toward a future where no lives are lost to opioid overdose and where addiction-related stigma is eradicated.
How We Do It
Through a robust systems-change strategy, we focus on:
-Collaborating with healthcare facilities and first responders to provide naloxone directly to those at risk.
-Advocating with policymakers to facilitate access to naloxone.
-Raising public awareness to challenge misconceptions about addiction and its treatment.
-Initiatives like our Maternal Overdose Matters (MOMs) equip perinatal units to serve at-risk families. Our first-responder initiative, CPACC, implements therapeutic reconciliation training and naloxone leave-behind to those most impacted.
We are proud to work with esteemed community partners such as Denver Health, Tepeyac Community Health Center, and Swedish Hospital. These collaborations are pivotal, positioning TNP as the initial step in comprehensive wraparound care. They catalyze recovery for individuals and communities alike, specializing in serving rural and frontier areas.
