We believe housing stability is the foundation of a strong, thriving community. And, when one neighbor is struggling, we all feel it - but when we lift each other up, we grow stronger together.
Colorado Gives Day 2025 is December 9, and your gift can lift the spirits and preserve the safety of a family in our community who is at risk of losing their home.
Your support prevents homelessness for neighbors - whether it's an unexpected layoff, an injury that requires surgery and aftercare, or an unsafe living environment that leaves a family scrambling for deposit and moving expenses. When we respond with compassion to prevent a crisis, we keep our neighborhoods resilient and our community strong:
"I lost my job when my car broke down, and I could no longer drive to Longmont. I have an 8-year-old, and she deserves a safe place to sleep at night. I am forever grateful for N2N’s help. They did not judge me. They were very courteous and responsive, and they kept my family from homelessness."
Your gift today is an investment in our beloved community's economic strength and long-term stability. With your support, Neighbor to Neighbor will continue our 55-year mission of providing, securing, and preserving sustainable housing opportunities. Together we can protect what matters most - home.
Giving Activity
Mission
Neighbor to Neighbor opens doors and advances lives from homelessness through homeownership by providing sustainable housing, supportive services, and education primarily to the Larimer County community.
We envision communities where everyone has opportunity and access to a stable home, because home is the foundation for success.
Background Statement
Without the visionary leadership of Lou Stitzel, Neighbor to Neighbor would not exist. In 1970, Lou organized a group of compassionate neighbors to help a local Fort Collins family that was at risk of losing their home. By joining forces to raise funds, this grassroots movement not only kept this family from becoming homeless, it also led to the creation of Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N).
Since then, N2N programs have expanded to meet the growing need for affordable housing and self-sufficiency programs in Larimer County, including N2N's HUD-Certified Renter and Homeownership programs and Affordable Housing program. Due to growing community needs, some programs are expanding to assist our neighbors in Weld County.
Today, we continue to honor Lou's legacy with our steadfast commitment to overcoming present-day housing challenges with creative, sustainable solutions and great care and compassion for our neighbors.
