Help elevate a child's voice.

Your donation to CASA of the Continental Divide affects positive change in the lives of children involved in the court system due to experiencing abuse and neglect and those struggling with issues of truancy.

CASA of the Continental Divide (CASACD) needs your help raising money to support Court Appointed Special Advocates who speak on behalf of child victims of abuse, neglect, and truancy. The children we serve are assigned to our programs across Colorado's 5th Judicial District. This includes Eagle, Summit, Clear Creek, and Lake counties.

Our mission is to guide volunteer advocates who ensure a child’s safety, best interest and well-being are at the forefront of legal proceedings. We are able to achieve this mission through two programs: Child Advocacy in Dependency and Neglect and Child Advocacy in Truancy.

Mission

CASA of the Continental Divide guides volunteer advocates who ensure a child’s safety, best interest and well-being are at the forefront of legal proceedings.

Background Statement

In 1977, a Seattle juvenile court judge found many children in abuse and neglect cases lacked courtroom representation. This sparked the idea to elect volunteer advocates who spoke on the children’s’ behalf. This program grew into a national network including our own CASA of the Continental Divide, founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Originally, CASACD served children in Summit and Eagle counties expanding to Clear Creek and Lake counties in 2000 and 2001. Our truancy advocacy program began in Eagle in 2020, expanded to Clear Creek and Lake counties in 2021, and Summit County in 2023.
