"I enjoy serving on the MCC Foundation Board because of how much it gives back to the students today and into the future. I enjoy learning about and supporting new programs and infrastructure that is being added to MCC. It is amazing to see how many people in our community have a hand in supporting the students financially every year."
Donny Edson

MCC Foundation Board Vice President
“Being a good leader in Morgan County starts with being a supporter of the MCC Foundation. Creating scholarships that financially support and educate our young people is paramount to the long term success of Fort Morgan and surrounding communities. We look forward to being able to continue to support MCC and being partners in its continued success.”
John Harris
President/Founder Paradigm Fresh & Colorado Cold Connect

"Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to further my education through your scholarship! Your generosity has given not only me, but countless other students the opportunity to better our future. Without your continued support of the Agriculture program, the outlook of the future agriculturalists would not be near as bright."

“I am studying to get an Associate of Science with a concentration in Biology. I hope to become a doctor that practices Emergency Medicine and to work for the United Nations since there is a shortage of doctors that do this around the world. I hope to do my part in making it better for our future. These scholarships will help me get roots set out and meet new and experienced people to help/guide me along my path to success. It will also help me pay for some classes. Thank you for enabling this opportunity. I am esteemed to be the recipient of these scholarships.”

"The scholarships that I have received during my time here at MCC have greatly impacted my success as a student by not only giving me the financial opportunity to be successful, but also aiding me in being able to earn a degree in a field that I love. I am a recent MCC nursing graduate with plans of getting my bachelor’s degree and becoming a pediatric nurse. I am able to be where I am today with the generosity of scholarship donors. These scholarships have given me the liberty to focus on my studies rather than worrying about how I will pay for it, so I am very grateful."

The MCC Foundation is dedicated to securing financial resources for the growth and development of Morgan Community College and promoting a superior environment for learning.
The Foundation began in the early 1970's, not long after the college began. Early donors included Carl and Virginia Johnson, who contributed their dairy farm. The first College President lived in the house on the dairy property for several years. Helen Williams began her long history of scholarship donations around this time period, also. Originally, the Foundation met once a year for the annual meeting and the fundraising efforts included a Greater Gifts Committee that sponsored a scholarship fund drive. In 1981 a $50,000 scholarship trust fund was established by HB Bloedorn, Chairman of Farmers State Bank of Fort Morgan. In 1987, The Clark-Feather buildings were donated to the Foundation and used for a number of years for Adult Basic Education, the truck driving program, etc. These buildings were sold in the 1990's.
Under college President John McKay and Foundation President Mike Berryhill, the Foundation expanded significantly and became more formalized in the late 1990's. The first annual fundraising campaign was held in 1998, raising $147,000. In 2000 the first Gala was hosted. Today the Foundation has six board meetings a year with eleven members and two ex-officio members. The MCC Foundation provides numerous scholarship opportunities in addition to supporting college programs, special initiatives, and capital projects. Recent accomplishments include funding the construction of Cedar Hall, which houses the current Adult Basic Education programs and raising $600,000 to equip and furnish the health-science wing remodeling and expansion. In 2010 the Foundation received a $1.65 million pledge from the A.F. Williams Family Foundation to endow a chair for Radiologic Technology, making MCC the first community college in Colorado to have a university-model endowed chair position. Many community members continue to contribute significantly to the growth of the Foundation and are responsible for the success that the Foundation experiences today.
