Mi Familia en Acción is a national, civic engagement organization invested in uniting Latino, immigrant, and allied communities to shape safe, healthy, and thriving futures for Latino communities. The organization prioritizes engaging in meaningful conversations, educating the public on important issues, and mobilizing Latinos to develop long-lasting, positive change.
Mi Familia en Acción started its journey in California advocating for immigrants’ rights in 2006. Over the years, the organization shifted its focus to civic engagement activities with the intent of closing gaps seen in voting, voter registration, and other civic activities in Latino communities across the country. The organization has since moved into seven different states with a presence in Colorado for 15 years. The reach of our organization is fueled using the “Ocho Patas” organizing model which allows the state to engage with leaders across many different sectors to work on a wide range of issues. MFA Colorado has spent the last two years getting clear on goals and priorities while reinvesting in our communities. Moving forward we will be continuing our work to bring real, positive impacts to Latinos in the state.
