Menace Theatre Company is a nonprofit arts organization committed to producing bold, ambitious, and innovative theatrical works. Through provocative performances and educational opportunities, Menace creates space for storytelling, and artistic risk-taking. More than a theatre company, Menace is a movement, a collective of artists and audiences determined to reimagine the limits of theatre.
Founded by Nigel Knutzen (Executive & Co-Artistic Director) and Erin Thibodaux (Co-Artistic Director), Menace was born out of a shared observation: the theatre landscape had lost some of its appetite for risk. Leaving many artists without a space to experiment, learn, grow, and refine their craft. With the overwhelming support from family, friends, and collaborators, Knutzen and Thibodaux have set out to fill the gap by building a space where artistic courage isn't just welcomed, it's required.
Menace Theatre Company aims to strengthen Colorado's theatre scene and redefine what theatre looks like here in Colorado.
