Testimonials

2018 Testimonials for grants received

"The funding for this particular grant was used to purchase Biology, Physical Science, and Chemistry textbooks for the high school science department. The textbooks were much needed and have been a tremendous asset to the science program at MHS. Not only did this curriculum include textbooks, but it included very valuable online resources as well. We are extremely grateful to the MEF for affording us the opportunity to purchase much-needed textbooks for our students."

"They learned a great deal about teamwork and had to utilize logic and math skills………Your grant cycle works well with the school year. It is a wonderful resource for teachers. Thank you!"

"Students bond as a cohort of learners to begin their middle school years. Students are challenged as leaders and cooperators. In addition, students learn to appreciate one another's differences and tolerate each other's uniqueness…… Thank you very much for your support of Meeker School District students."

"Thank you!!! The Farm A Multimodal Reader textbooks you so graciously funded for my classroom will make it possible for our students to learn about the critical importance of food production while they learn and practice critical thinking, critical analysis, grammar, college level reading, college level writing, rhetoric, and communication skills."

"The conference is a series of hands on workshops in STEM fields for 6-8 grade girls. The hopes of organizers is to encourage, engage and excite girls about STEM topics. The girls loved it and got a lot out of the trip…Your help is so appreciated."

"The I-pads are used for benchmark testing and progress monitoring at Meeker Elementary. Having ur own I-Pads in the Title Program has made these tasks go so smoothly…Thanks you."

"This grant provided funds to supply the art room at the elementary school. We bought books to help learn about artists, different cultures that have brought us art, and styles of art that we have emulated in our work. We bought supplies that put students hands on a variety of ways to make art happen. Materials to provide this for every K-5 student in our school are expensive and the help in providing them is very much appreciated!"

(The Meeker Elementary Garden project has proven to be a valuable outdoor classroom)
"Throughout the year, teachers and students have utilized the garden not only for scientific education, but for incorporating interdisciplinary lessons such as writing and reading in the garden (poetry, how-to, phonics instruction, thank-you notes, reading, etc.), math (measurement, graphing, geometry, calendar skills, etc.), social studies (past and present agriculture, climate, and natural resources in Meeker and our world), along with using it to inspire creativity for artistic projects (Van Gogh sunflowers, mosaics, etc.). …..the garden project will continue to grow with many other projects, but for now, it has extended the opportunity for students to work collaboratively toward a common goal, and has fostered an understanding of impacting our school community in a positive way helping students become responsible citizens and stewards of our natural world"

"The two MHS theater grants….: One provided costumes for all of the actors in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The other half was spent on supplies used for the sets and props, as well as for the orchestrations that the actors sang along to. The play was highly successful in no small part because of our ability to present it in the well packaged way that the MEF grant monies provided!"

"The Meeker Education Funds were used to purchase Earth and Space Science textbooks for the Geology and Astronomy classes at the high school. The reason for purchasing new textbooks was because the old books wee extremely outdated. Unfortunately, Geology and Astronomy were not offered this year due to high enrollment in upper-level math courses. However, the courses will be offered next year and I am looking forward to using updated materials with my students…..Thank you so much for your continued support of our students."
