Mckinley-Thatcher Elementary

50 Years of Excellence: Invest in McKinley Thatcher’s Next Chapter

This Colorado Gives Day, celebrate our 50th Birthday by empowering our students and celebrating our educators.

For 50 years, McKinley Thatcher Elementary has been a vibrant neighborhood school dedicated to nurturing the academic, social, physical, and emotional growth of every child.

While core funding from Denver Public Schools covers the basics, it doesn't provide the full spectrum of programs that make our school exceptional. This Colorado Gives Day, we invite our entire community—parents, alumni, neighbors, and friends—to invest in the magic of McKinley Thatcher.

Every dollar raised directly funds the vital programs, people, and experiences that inspire creativity, curiosity, and connection:

• Field Trip Transportation: Removing barriers so every student experiences experiential learning across Denver and beyond.
• Teacher Professional Development Grants: Equipping our dedicated educators with innovative training, tools, and classroom resources.
• Staff Appreciation & Wellness: Caring for the team that cares for our kids—funding coffee carts, wellness initiatives, and staff recognition.

Our Goal: 100% Community Participation

Philanthropy is an “all-in” community effort. A thriving culture of giving isn't just about large gifts—it’s about every family taking part.

Whether you can give $5, $50, or $500, your participation directly impacts a child's school day.

• $25 helps provide coffee and appreciation treats for our hardworking staff.
• $50 funds books and supplies for classroom innovation.
• $100 covers bus transportation for a class field trip.
• $250+ fuels professional development grants for teachers.

Every gift made now through Dec. 8 is boosted by a $1M+ Incentive Fund. Monthly giving gets an extra boost right now, too. Colorado Gives Foundation will match the first $100 of any new monthly gift you set up during this time, as part of a $250K matching pool across all participating nonprofits.

Every dollar you contribute helps maintain McKinley-Thatcher's commitment to excellence and donations are 100% tax deductible. Together, we can ensure that our students receive the comprehensive education they deserve—one that nurtures their minds, bodies, and spirits. Join us in making a difference. Your gift today shapes the leaders of tomorrow.
