$5,000 Goal

The Mariposa Collective proudly presents “Momentum,” running from January 31-February 2, 2025, at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder. This performance will showcase the talents of four exceptional Colorado musicians — James Hoskins, Jesse Manno, Victor Mestas, and Tober Schorr, alongside nearly 30 Choreographers, Dancers, Puppeteers, Actors, Musicians, and Videographers from Boulder and the surrounding area. We invite you to join us in uplifting independent Colorado artists through your financial support. Your tax deductible donations will provide essential support for our production, ensuring that every aspect of the project shines. Contributions will help cover  artist stipends, costs for rehearsal space, theater rental, professional photography, video documentation, and marketing efforts. Together, we can create a truly memorable experience! Thank you for being an integral part of this vibrant artistic community and for supporting local talent! Your involvement makes a significant difference, and we’re grateful for your commitment to the arts. Together, we can nurture creativity and help it flourish in ways that enrich our community and inspire all of us. Let’s keep the Momentum going!

Mission

The Mariposa Collective is a performing arts collective dedicated to the service and support of contemporary artists and the creative process. Our mission is to nurture and support a diverse community by engaging in artistic dialogue, exploring and sharing multi-disciplinary work, and offering high quality artistic contributions to the community.

Background Statement

The Mariposa Collective was founded in Boulder in 1994 by Barbara Dilley (founder of the Dance Department at Naropa University and president of Naropao from 1985-1993), with Naropa Dance and Inter Arts Faculty Diane Butler, Carol McDowell, and Polly Motley as a collaborative space for its members, providing fuel for projects, and helping to inspire and develop work in the presence of others. Other past members include Lucien Wulsin, Cara Reeser, Katherine Kaufman, Christy Harris, Kim Olson, David Ortalano, Paul Temple, Mary Kite, Brigitta Hermann, Betsy Tobin, and Ana Baer. After a period of repose from 2018 - 2023, the Collective has reemerged with new members, and a renewed commitment to support independent performing artists in our community, and to provide a space for artistic exploration and collaboration.
