Magpie Community Events

We're Magpie Community Events, a furry fandom based organization founded on the premise of making positive changes throughout the local scene through collaborative action, mutual aid, educational opportunities, raising awareness, and more-- all for marginalized, at-risk communities and for animal welfare.

Historically, we have worked short notice Call To Actions for other organizations, offered free resources, and distribute items and funding where we can help most. We love to build "nests" in spaces through collaboration and create community with other organizations and businesses that believe in achieving the same goals as ourselves, whether they have had any former affiliation with our fandom or not.

Our mission: Progressive representation, advocacy, and respect of BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, Neurodiverse, and Disabled communities, in addition to the welfare of animal lives.

Our values:
M - *Mutual Aid*: Helping with outreach and advocacy for fellow non-profit organizations and at-risk communities.

A - *Artists & Creatives*: Encourage those that helped build this community through the creation of art, music, literature, digital media, and more.

G - *Generosity*: Share what we can in the best way we can, whether through fundraising, promotion, education, et al.

P - *Progressive*: Foster opportunities to do better for our fandom community, by learning, growing, and advocating for each other, as change is worth fighting for.

I - *Inclusion*: Our community is diverse, and we hope to create a sense of belonging beyond just our shared appreciation of animals.

E - *Ethics*: Grow together, show integrity, take accountability, and take the time to do the right thing.
