Fuel Student-Led Climate Action Across Coloradođź’Ą

Across Colorado, young people are stepping forward with bold ideas for how to strengthen their communities in a changing climate. Through the Seal of Climate Literacy and career connected learning in climate-impacted fields, students learn climate science, build real-world skills, and design hands-on projects that benefit their schools, towns, and communities.

But too often, the students who are most eager to learn and lead lack the support they need to access meaningful climate learning opportunities.

This Colorado Gives Day, we’re raising $10,000 to support students statewide in earning the Seal of Climate Literacy. Your gift helps ensure that every student—regardless of zip code—can access the learning experiences, resources, and pathways they need to become climate-literate graduates.

Your generosity removes barriers, opens doors, and ensures the Seal is accessible to students of every background.

Why Give Today ❤

When you give, you:

  • Expand equitable access to climate learning and the Seal of Climate Literacy across rural, urban, and under-resourced communities.

  • Fuel hands-on experiences that help students connect classroom learning to real-world climate challenges.

  • Empower youth leadership, giving students tools to study, innovate, and act on climate issues they care about.

  • Build Colorado’s climate-ready workforce, preparing students for emerging jobs and civic leadership.

  • Show young people that their ideas matter and that adults are committed to supporting their learning and their future.

Your support today strengthens the statewide movement to prepare every Colorado student for a climate-affected future—and helps more students earn the Seal of Climate Literacy high school diploma endorsement

Mission

Lyra incubates and accelerates high-impact education initiatives that tackle some of the biggest challenges facing education, deeply rooted in diverse and inclusive community voices.

We are working to ensure that all students—especially those in rural and underrepresented communities—graduate climate-literate, prepared for climate-resilient careers, and equipped to build a more sustainable future. We create the policy, partnerships, and systems necessary so every student can learn, lead, and make meaningful change in their communities.

Background Statement

Founded in 2019, Lyra began by supporting innovative education ecosystems in Colorado. As young people increasingly named climate change as the most urgent issue of their generation, Lyra shifted its full focus to climate education.

Lyra now works at the intersection of policy, education, workforce development, and community engagement to ensure all students—especially those in rural and historically underrepresented regions—have access to high-quality climate learning opportunities.

We led the creation and passage of the Seal of Climate Literacy (SB24-014), the nation’s first climate literacy diploma endorsement. In its first year, 14 Colorado districts and charter networks implemented the Seal, and more than 420 students earned it. Our work now focuses on expanding access statewide through innovative models like a climate-focused BOCES, strengthening rural collaboratives, building climate-resilient career pathways, and elevating youth leadership.

Everything Lyra does ladders up to our North Star Goal:

By 2030, 15,000+ Colorado students—especially in rural and underrepresented communities—will graduate climate-literate and prepared to lead on climate solutions.
