Testimonials

Just wanted to let you know that you all did amazing with my daughter! I have never heard her talk so much about all the fun she had...She has formed friendships that she will never forget and will forge with going forward. She is really excited for next summer and you may even see her more than once...We have been so blessed with her stories and we look forward to the many more memories she will be creating with LVR!! God bless you all! -Erin Pearce

Both of my children went to LVR from Kindergarten to their senior year of high school. They learned compassion towards others different than themselves, went on the backpacking trip from Jr. High through High School and learned leadership and teamwork skills. And both learned a lot of fun songs they still sing to this day!!! -Annie Anderson

Thank you for all you do! My son was just telling me how much he learned last week about perseverance and how he's going to apply it to the school year! You all are changing lives! -Holly Corum Ford

My children live near LVR, and they still consider their week as campers at LVR the highlight of their year.

Mission

Sharing God's Grace and Glory in His Creation

Background Statement

In 1968, a group of men began a children's camp on 240 acres of land in Pike National Forest. Volunteers hosted 3 weeks of camp in tents. During the first 42 years of operation, donors funded cabins, a bathhouse, a kitchen and dining hall. In 2002, the Haymen fire burned through the land of Lutheran Valley Retreat with casualties of staff housing, the bathhouse, 3 cabins and 5 outpost cabins. Since the fire, a bathhouse, conference center, a 2 cabins have been rebuilt. Also, volunteers remolded 2 cabins.
