We Feed Families
The LoVVe Project provides fresh, locally sourced meat, dairy, and produce as well as hygiene and cleaning supplies to over 200 families of Ellis Elementary School and the surrounding SE Denver neighborhood. In partnership with Ellis's social worker and principal, we ensure that families most in need receive our support.

We also provide culturally appropriate holiday foods, host an annual Back to School Fiesta and provide every student with a backpack full of supplies, and share the spirit of giving at our annual Joy of Toys event.

Our board members and cultural advisors look like the families we serve. The LoVVe Project speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic with partners from Mexico, Venezuela, Libya, Nepal, and many others. We pride ourselves on providing culturally appropriate foods and choices for families wherever possible.

We go beyond meeting bare minimum needs to create giving events with dignity and a celebratory spirit.

Testimonials from our families
During this pandemic especially at the beginning during the most difficult time, I was able to get the basics every other week which helped tremendously.

We receive Snap benefits so with the help of the LoVVe Project we are able to make them last through the month.

The help the LoVVe Project provides to my family made things a lot easier and possibly saved us!!

The LoVVe Project gave me assistance with not only food but also household cleaning supplies, hygiene, masks, as well as other offerings like breakfast and toys and gear for kids.

The LoVVe Project has helped in SO MANY ways!! Not only are we able to get everything we need to make healthy, nutritious meals and snacks. We also receive personal hygiene and cleaning products which is so helpful.

Mission

Our mission is to ensure access to fresh, nutritious food for all families so that children are eager and ready to learn at school. We partner with the City of Denver, The Food Bank of the Rockies, We Don't Waste, local churches, small businesses, and many neighbors to build an engaged and supportive community for all.

Background Statement

The LoVVe Project was founded in May 2020 in response to the COVID pandemic when many schools had to close their doors and children lost access to daily nutritious meals. Since that time our work has expanded, serving over 200 families and providing opportunities for engagement and connection at our annual Back to School Fiesta and Joy of Toys holiday event.
