Our Mission Lotus Foundation provides confidential, survivor-directed advocacy and comprehensive case management to survivors of human trafficking throughout Colorado. We support all survivors of both sex and labor trafficking as they reclaim their autonomy and build safe, healthy, and independent lives.

Our Principles Lotus Foundation was founded on the belief that every survivor deserves to be met with compassion, dignity, inclusion, and deep understanding. From our earliest days, we recognized that survivor care is not one-size-fits-all. Survivors of human trafficking come from every background, every walk of life — and the systems meant to serve them too often fail the most marginalized. We built Lotus to be different.

Compassion guides every interaction — we meet survivors where they are, without judgment, and walk alongside them at their pace.

Dignity is non-negotiable. Every person who comes through our doors is seen as a whole human being, not a case number or a story to be told.

Inclusion means we serve everyone. We are proud to open our doors to every survivor, regardless of age, gender, background, or the form of exploitation they experienced — because advocacy that leaves people out isn't advocacy at all.

Understanding drives us to listen first. We know that trust is earned, that trauma is complex, that healing is not linear, and that survivors are the experts of their own lives. Our work is survivor-directed because we believe survivors hold the answers.

These principles are not aspirations — they are the foundation on which Lotus was built, and the standard to which we hold ourselves every day.

Confidentiality All advocates at Lotus Foundation have been trained in Confidential Victim Advocacy, and we are covered under Colorado Revised Statute 13-90-107. This means that any information about you or that you share with us is never shared outside of this organization without your written consent.

Statement of Inclusivity Lotus Foundation exists to serve all survivors of human trafficking regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, religion, immigration status/citizenship, or culture. No person deserves to experience the horrors of human trafficking, and every single survivor deserves assistance. ALL survivors are welcome here. ALL survivors will be treated with equal respect. We are truly honored to serve you.

Our Future As we grow, we are consistently adding to our services and capabilities. Our biggest goal is the addition of both an emergency safehouse for survivors who are actively fleeing, and a longterm residential program where survivors can live safely until they are able to have a home of their own.

Lotus Foundation is actively seeking community partners and agencies who are interested in forming a dynamic partnership with us. We are always looking to build and develop relationships to better serve survivors of human trafficking in Colorado. We firmly believe that no one person or one organization can solve the problem of human trafficking in our community - teamwork and collaboration are key!

What We Do Lotus Foundation offers comprehensive, trauma-informed advocacy and case management to survivors of human trafficking — completely free and confidential. Our services are tailored to each individual and can include:

Direct Survivor Support

  • Emotional support, safety planning, and long-term case management for those who want it
  • Material assistance such as clothing, food, hygiene products, household goods, and personal care items
  • Transportation support including bus passes, rideshare, hotel stays, and flights when needed
  • Court accompaniment, protection order assistance, and support during police reports or other difficult appointments
  • Enrollment assistance into Colorado's Address Confidentiality Program (ACP)

Home Safe  Rental Assistance for Survivors Lotus Foundation is proud to offer Home Safe, Colorado's first trafficking-specific rental assistance program. Designed to bridge the gap between crisis and stability, Home Safe provides eligible survivors with up to 12 months of step-down rental support — helping them secure and maintain safe, stable housing as they rebuild their lives.

Community Connections Because we believe survivors deserve access to a full continuum of care, we maintain strong relationships with community partners to connect survivors with services we don't provide directly — including trauma-informed therapy, legal aid, and housing or residential options.

Education & Prevention We offer community outreach events and presentations tailored to general audiences or specific organizations. We believe that awareness and education are foundational to both prevention and meaningful change — and we're committed to doing our part on both fronts.

Giving Activity

Mission

Lotus Foundation provides confidential, survivor-directed advocacy and comprehensive case management to survivors of human trafficking throughout Colorado. We support all survivors of both sex and labor trafficking as they reclaim their autonomy and build safe, healthy, and independent lives.

Background Statement

Lotus Foundation was founded in 2023 by two advocates who recognized a critical gap in services for human trafficking survivors in the Colorado Springs and Front Range region. What began as a shared dream has grown into a thriving nonprofit — and in just our first two years, we have grown from serving 24 survivors in 2023 to 77 in 2025. We are dedicated, passionate, and deeply committed to this work, and we hope that shows in every interaction we have with the survivors we serve.
